Hosts the popular weekly RTHK3 feature Trash Talk

Marcy Trent Long founded Sustainable Asia in 2018 to expand environmental journalism here in Asia.   She hosts the popular weekly RTHK3 feature Trash Talk and is the executive producer of the Sustainable Asia podcast, an award-winning podcast that provides a new perspective on how countries in Asia are tackling a changing planet.  Marcy’s environmental reporting follows a 15-year global career in energy and finance and an MBA from The Wharton School.

Marcy founded the nonprofit media group Sustainable Asia based in Hong Kong with immediate results: Nominated Best Podcast in Asia by Asia Podcast Awards in its first year, Won Media X competition for HK$100,000 funding, obtained funding from Blue Chip donors as Swire Charitable Trust, Pew Charitable Trust, Heinrich Boell Foundation and the Wilson Center.  Led and nurtured 20+ young interns and competitively paid freelance journalists from Hong Kong, China and Taiwan with Sustainable Asia productions – those journalists now with Bloomberg, SCMP, etc. focusing on ESG subjects. Produced award-winning audio documentaries on illegal wildlife trade, ocean plastic pollution and ocean noise pollution in English and Mandarin.

She initiated the Meaningful Travel HK$500,000 student exchange program between Hong Kong and rural China schools, to create new education and nutrition funding for impoverished students.
