Design inspired by the journey of life – this is the philosophy that drives the designs of PROTESTA. They believe good designs originate from practicality, positivity with sleek and timeless visual aesthetics. They stand by minimal and sustainable lifestyle, create simple and long lasting products with impeccable style and functionality inspired by the nuances of our journey in life.

WHY THEY’RE CONSCIOUS

“4R” is the origin of PROTESTA’s design structure, It stands for recover, recreate, recycle and respect. They represent the design concept with the important notions of “Taken from the earth, implemented within designs, recycle and reuse, respect our environmental resources.”

The entire collection is made with recycled aluminum and minimalistic in design, with simple and clean lines and forms. More than 90% of unwanted recycled aluminum can yet be recycled into a brand new product. They’re also packaged in beautifully recycled felt Protesta packing.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER 

Elias Lam, founder and designer of PROTESTA, graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University specialized in Spacial Design. After designing fashion accessories for a decade, Elias decided to further his study in jewelry and metalwork at Sheffield Hallam University in 2015. His passion in accessory design and his experience aspired him to create a label of his own, Protesta. His debut collection was released in 2015, influenced by minimalism and the cultural movement of Bauhaus, and conveyed his idea through simple line exploration and industrial structure. Forms rise from recurring motifs in architecture and jewelry, recede into minimal vacant structures. Jewelry were created using heavy industrial production technique and skilled handicraft in mainly recycled and upcycled materials.
