Environmental activist, filmmaker, and co-founder of Make A Change World, an organization dedicated to tackling plastic pollution and promoting environmental sustainability.

Gary Bencheghib is an environmental activist, filmmaker, and co-founder of Make A Change World, an organization dedicated to tackling plastic pollution and promoting environmental sustainability. Born and raised in Bali, Indonesia, Gary grew up surrounded by the beauty of nature, but also saw the alarming impact of plastic waste on the island’s beaches and oceans, which fueled his passion for environmental advocacy.

In 2017, alongside his siblings Sam and Kelly, Gary co-founded Make A Change World to raise global awareness about plastic pollution through storytelling and impactful media. The organization produces documentaries and films that highlight environmental issues, especially the pollution of rivers and oceans by plastic waste. Gary and his team have been involved in innovative river-cleaning projects, including building boats made from recycled plastic to clean heavily polluted waterways.

Gary is also recognized for his creative and bold campaigns. One notable initiative involved documenting expeditions down some of the world’s most polluted rivers, such as the Citarum River in Indonesia, often referred to as the world’s dirtiest river. His work focuses on showing the harsh realities of pollution while inspiring communities and governments to take action.

Through his films and environmental projects, Gary Bencheghib has become a prominent voice in the global fight against plastic pollution, combining creativity and advocacy to encourage sustainable change.
