1. Ecoalf’s trendy sneakers made from waste

Ecoalf is going big with sustainability, launching a new footwear collection made from recycled waste from oceans and rivers. The plastics are converted into yarn-like substances to make these chic footwear that is truly every #hypebeast millennial’s dream.

Fresh kicks for the weekend.

2. The Anti-anti-straw War

We know the world has gone anti-straw crazy, but has it been effective? Some have said that this movement places the people with disabilities at an advantage and hence is not inclusive. Others have opined that banning straws isn’t tackling the root problem of the issue of waste and dirty consumerism. So what’s really the right thing to do?

It’s time to talk, but let’s not get into a straw-man argument with this.

3. Plastic-eating microbes could be our solution

With millions of plastics entering our natural environments, they outlive and in fact, kill many of Earth’s inhabitants in many ways. Research on plastic-eating microbes could be our solution. Does this mean that plastics are now…biodegradable?

Could this be the silver bullet to our plastic problem?

4. Humans, we are truly the root of all evil

With only 13% of the world untouched by humanity, we have officially almost conquered the world. Everything touch seems to go bad, with us destroying ecosystems, phasing out animal species and clearing habitats. What have we done and how can we reverse this before it is all too late?

This is the wake-up call we need.

5. Eco-burials, an eco-conscious final exit

We’ve hurt the Earth enough during our time here, so why not lessen our impact by going green as we say our final goodbye? Eco-burials are the new in thing in sustainability. The things we bury in the ground do leech into natural environments like the soil and plants, so why not do our part?

Your carbon footprint doesn’t end when you do.
