🔨 SATURDAY WORKSHOPS

On Saturday, October 14th, The Conscious Festival is set to host a vibrant array of five workshops that promise to inspire, educate, and immerse participants on a whole different level.

  • Working the Vagus Nerve through Sound by SOMA HAUS

From 12 – 1 PM, join us for a restorative practice using sound bowls to stimulate our vagus nerve, a nerve that plays an important role in our nervous system’s regulation and our ability to feel energised and relaxed functionally.

We will start our journey together by learning all about the vagus nerve. After which, enjoy a quiet time of restoration—lie back, relax, and reconnect with yourself through the vibrations of sound.

A little bit about the facilitators of this workshop: SOMA HAUS. SOMA HAUS is redefining the self-care experience with a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to healthcare. They bring together industry professionals and utilise science-backed, therapeutic interventions to create the most optimal environment for your body to heal.

  • Reconnect with Singapore’s Biodiversity with Singapore Youth Voices for Biodiversity (SYVB) with Nasry

Discover the calming influence of nature in the heart of Singapore’s bustling city from 1:30 – 2:45 PM. Mindful appreciation of nature can both be a rejuvenating and scientific exploration, and it has helped Nasry navigate through the frenzy of juggling school work as an undergraduate and being a youth advocate for local biodiversity policy.

Nature is everywhere in Singapore, yet it is still only accessible to the few that actively seek it out. Join us as we explore how to begin to appreciate nature in our midst and the grounding influence that appreciation can have in our lives.

Nasry, the facilitator for this workshop, is a nature educator and biodiversity advocate based in Singapore. When he’s not busy drowning in submissions for his undergraduate coursework at the Asian School of the Environment at Nanyang Technological University, he leads the Singapore Youth Voices for Biodiversity in their efforts to advocate for better implementation of local biodiversity policy.

  • Empowering the Future: How to raise children in the Face of Climate Change by Conscious Parenting (Maguelonne Rousseau) and Hundred Paths (Aminah Abdul Latif)

In a world facing climate change and environmental issues, it’s crucial to prepare the younger generation with the knowledge, skills, and resilience. This workshop, happening from 3 – 4 PM, invites parents, educators, and carers to support children in building a sense of identity, resilience, and a positive mindset to cope with climate-related challenges. Together, we aim to nurture environmentally compassionate and resilient individuals who can drive positive change for a sustainable planet.

Let’s work together to raise compassionate, mindful, proactive, and conscious thinkers and empower our children to be the change makers our world needs.

Workshop objectives:

  • Understand the essential qualities and skills children need to thrive.
  • Develop emotional and mental resilience in children to cope with climate-related changes.
  • Instil a deep connection to nature, a sense of environmental responsibility,  and be stewards of nature.

Kids, women, and parents advocate Maguelonne Rousseau is a licenced counsellor, a family and parenting coach, a SleepTalk for Children consultant, and a certified yoga and personal wellbeing instructor. She is passionate about physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being, with a special interest in neuroscience and education approaches that promote healthy parent-child relationships.

Aminah is the co-founder of Hundred Paths. Her experiences as a preschool educator and her appreciation for child-led learning and nature motivated her to be a Forest School practitioner. She believes that free play, especially in nature, allows children to develop a sense of self, develop strength in their physical bodies, and support neural connections necessary for learning.

  • From Seed to Soul: The Interconnected Journey of Food by Andrew Cameron & Nithiya Laila & Habitat Collective

Happening 4:30 – 5:45 PM, join us on a transformative journey that transcends the boundaries of taste and nourishment. “From Seed to Soul: The Interconnected Journey of Food” is a holistic exploration of the path from seed to soul. Together, we will unravel the intricate systems behind our everyday meals and explore the interconnectedness of food with our environment, humanity, and culture.

  • Tap into your dream space with Livy Von Goh

From 6 – 7 PM, learn more about guided dream meditation as it allows you to explore your desired dream or a dream you had. A simple way to invite creative rest back into your life and connect with the space you go to for a third of your life.

Engage with each other’s dreams actively and play them out. Dreamers gain multiple perspectives on their dreams and connect deeply. Learn how to recall your dreams better or improve sleep with plants. Work through your emotions and decision-making using knowledge of psychology, global mythology, and symbolism to decode your dreams. Livy bridges the world of waking and sleeping dreams.
