Awethentic Group proudly acquires Green Is The New Black

Green Is The New Black is pleased to announce it has been acquired by Sean Lee-Davies, Founder & CEO of Awethentic Group, a leading impact and venture studio, to take the company towards a brighter and bolder future.

Awethentic Group, a transformational lifestyle and venture parent company with a presence spanning Hong Kong, London, and the US, has long been committed to advancing sustainable lifestyles and conscious living. This strategic acquisition reflects their unwavering dedication to delivering transformational experiences and products promoting sustainable lifestyles.

With this acquisition, Sean Lee-Davies steps into the role of CEO for both Green Is The New Black and The Conscious Festival, partnering with GITNB founders Stephanie Dickson and Paula Miquelis to elevate these platforms to become the premier wellness and eco festival in Asia.

Sean Lee-Davies is no stranger to the world of media and environmental advocacy. Formerly the editorial director for Tatler Asia, Lee-Davies boasts two decades of experience in these realms. He is also an award-winning filmmaker and impact entrepreneur. In 2016, he founded Awethentic Studio, a venture studio that has been instrumental in launching food tech brands like GOOD Meat by Eat JUST in Singapore in 2020. Currently, Awethentic Studio is supporting the US expansion of What If Foods, a Singapore-based food tech company.

The future looks even brighter with The Conscious Festival, as it hopes to make waves in multiple global cities. This year, The Conscious Festival was back to its roots in Singapore (13 – 15 October 2023) and will continue with festivals in Paris and Hong Kong. This ambitious expansion is testament to Awethentic Group’s commitment to growing The Conscious Festival brand on a global scale, with The Conscious Festival Singapore leading the way in Southeast Asia.

Despite incredible scientific and economic breakthroughs (AI, the internet of things, self-driving vehicles, disease-diagnosing robots, etc.), the human species appears more alienated and out of sync with our planet, our surroundings, each other, and ourselves.  The Conscious Festival aims to build communities, foster innovation and elevate people’s consciousness during these very uncertain times.

Commenting on this exciting venture, Sean Lee-Davies, CEO of Awethentic Group, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are excited to bring together the expertise of Awethentic Group, Green is the New Black, and The Conscious Festival to amplify our collective impact to create meaningful positive change. Our goal is to inspire change, educate, and foster sustainable practices in business and consumer communities worldwide.”

Stephanie Dickson, Co-Founder of Green is the New Black, shares this enthusiasm for the acquisition. She remarked, “We are proud of what GITNB and The Conscious Festival have achieved, and we believe that Awethentic Group’s vision and expertise will take our platforms and initiatives to new heights.”

In a world grappling with complex environmental challenges, Sean Lee-Davies has one more ace up his sleeve. At the 7th edition of The Conscious Festival in Singapore, he unveiled “Our Future Nature,” a podcast designed to explore the realms of sustainability, science, and transformational technology. The podcast will be co-hosted on Green Is the New Black channels.

The podcast’s mission is clear: to empower its audience with knowledge and insights that will help navigate the intricate landscape of tomorrow’s most pressing global issues. These issues encompass climate change, artificial intelligence, biohacking, and various other emerging threats to humanity.

With Sean Lee-Davies leading the charge and a portfolio of influential events on the horizon, Awethentic Group is set to make a lasting impact on the way we approach sustainability in the 21st century, a world where wellness, eco-friendliness, and conscious living take centre stage.
