WHY THEY’RE CONSCIOUS
The Earth has finite resources. Disposables are used for such a short time, so it makes sense to switch to renewable materials, reserving conventional plastics for applications where they can’t be easily replaced. In 2014, by choosing to use their eco packaging, Vegware’s clients saved 2,514 tonnes of carbon – the equivalent of over 2,500 flights from London to Hong Kong.
WHAT’S THEIR FIGHTÂ
PROTECT THE PLANET:  Packaging made from plants, not plastic also means less carbon. For example, the recycled sugarcane used to make Vegware’s takeaway plates and boxes has 99% less embodied CO2 than polystyrene.
INNOVATION FOR GOOD:Â Vegware invests in product development and has brought many compostable innovations to market, including hot cup lids, double wall cups, high-heat cutlery and soup containers.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Joe Frankel, his first-class degree in maths followed by a PhD in informatics allows him to bring rigour and technical skills to systems and business planning. Joe enjoys the daily mental acrobatics and the range of challenges presented in running a business. The Vegware team has evolved to reflect his approach to working life which incorporates the wish to create a supportive yet dynamic working atmosphere along with an appetite for calculated risks and positive environmental impact which has fostered a shared excitement and hunger for driving sales and innovation.
