KNOWN FOR
Textile artist upcycling garments.

ABOUT THE BRAND

Are you ready to reconnect with your clothes? If so, meet Agatha, also known as Agy, a textile artist who is passionate about building environmentally aware communities. Her goal is to get people to reconnect with their clothes through techniques such as repair, transforming them into creative wearables (aka upcycling). She delivers regular talks and workshops including ‘Restyle Your Wardrobe’, where she shares her knowledge of rethinking the way we view our garments.

WHY THEY’RE CONSCIOUS

As an expert in sustainable fashion, Agy works with recycled fabrics and upcycles them to make clothes rather than throwing them away. She delivers regular talks and workshops to help others do the same, including her signature ‘Restyle Your Wardrobe.’

WHAT’S THEIR FIGHT

PROTECT THE PLANET: Reconnecting people with their garments through repair and upcycling.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Agy previously worked as a policymaker at the National Environmental Agency, Singapore for over 10 years before founding Green Issues by Agy and starting her journey in promoting sustainable fashion in Singapore. Being a passionate environmental scientist and textile artist, she creates environmentally aware communities and brings together influencers who are committed to making positive change. As one of the pioneers in the sustainable fashion movement in Singapore, Agy also set up Fashion Revolution Singapore in 2014 and co-founded Connected Threads Asia in 2015. Agy’s current focus is getting people reconnected with their clothes through her textile art, upcycling and repair, and realising how empowering these skills are. She has been featured in The Straits Times, Today and Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources Eco-Hero Saturday.
