Cheeky Baby Wear With A Conscience: Behind the Brand with Beth and Sarah from Hunter + Boo

Sustainable, ethical, affordable and totally cute! We spoke to Beth and Sarah the Founders of Hunter + Boo, a conscious baby and children’s wear label, on why they built their business, what it means to be organic and discoveries along the way.

Sarah and Beth co-founded Hunter + Boo which is a newly launched ethical baby & kids-wear label based in Singapore. The inspiration behind the brand is Sarah’s twin son and daughter who are nicknamed Hunter and Boo. As a mom, Sarah became obsessed with the labels that she uses for her twins and that includes food and even skin care product. Later on, that obsession naturally moved to the clothes that the twins are wearing. That is where the idea of putting up a kids-wear focused label started.

Hunter + Boo uses organic cotton as the main material for their clothes. Organic cotton is naturally farmed cotton without the use of pesticides or genetically modified seeds. They also use eco-dyes in their products to ensure that it is harm-free.

” For me, Mother Nature would be happy with the progress that’s being made towards kind of more ethically minded brands. Hopefully there is a more conscious movement and that people are starting to take a lot more focus and become more connected to their supply chain.”                                                                  – Beth

Beth and Sarah shared their journey about finding the right supplier for Hunter + Boo. They wanted to work with someone they can build a lasting relationship, they opted not to work with agencies but to work directly with factories instead. They looked for a supplier who is not only certified but is also one that they can see the whole supply chain transparently. Luckily for them, they found a small family-run factory in Sri Lanka.
